DaveMakesStuff always brings an astounding level of detail to his prints, and his latest project is no exception. This month, Dave applied his 3D printing wizardry to the timeless game of chess, adding a bit of Celtic flair to the beloved battle of the minds. When Dave decided he wanted to make his own array of chess pieces, he looked to the internet for help. When Dave was making his 3D-printed gyroid sculptures, he didn't know that they would actually be used in the ocean to help preserve the sea life ecosystem. Until he was contacted by a diving team to improve the file to further their research in artificial coral reef restoration. Dave got to work, and the results were improved 3D-printed artificial reefs which the fish absolutely loved.
